Frontpage Project meetings

Agenda for the 8 December 2011 project meeting.

We are meeting at Mercure hotel (St Paul's) - City Suite C

Some propositions for the day stemming from Richard and Guy's conversation on 1 December (including an translation/interpretation of project methodology)

I am in the process of pulling together an updated list of meeting participants

8:45-9:00 Get-together of the core team

9:00-09:30 Teas and coffees

9:30-10:30 Briefing for PGCE tutors participating in the project

10:30-11:00 Break/Teachers from participating schools arrive

11:00-12:30 Briefing for teachers from participating schools

12:30-13:30 Lunch/Technical advisers arrive

13:30-14:30 Briefing from technical advisers to schools/tutors

14:30-14:45 Coffee break

14:45-16:00 Working collaboratively: Next steps for the project - draft timeline for the partners

.. Julia here in blue ... I am wondering if we the core team need to meet for a little longer  at the start  -  just to confirm what we are doing on the day. 30 mins is very short I think

Hi Julia the core team will collaborate during the next couple of weeks and I envisage that we have a virtual meeting/phone conversations before the 8 Dec - trying to squeeze in a meeting on the 8 Dec might be a bit much - not to mention that it will be next to impossible with people arriving and having coffee, wanting to chat/network - what do others think? AG

OK

From Richard's email on 21 Nov: email from RP DEFT project - update Monday 21st Nov.txt

  • The programme for 8th Dec, as discussed, at last meeting is based around 4 'expanding' discussions/iterations: first we meet with tutors to outline and explain what we think we are trying to do (Cathy and Julia to lead), then school contacts join us and this expands to include their understandings and needs (CB and JD lead); then lunch and informal discussions (getting to know each other, creative partners present); and a conversation with them about what they can offer and how this might work (RP/AG to lead); and finally a plenary for all setting milestones and activities
  • We have confirmed the afternoon of 8th Dec with creative partners (Gwyn ap Hari, Keith Hemsley, Richard Johnson, Phil Moore and Sue Bamford) on the following basis: they join us for lunch at around 12ish (tbc) and then at the afternoon session make a brief (5 minute) presentation about a) who they are and what they do b) what they might offer to the project - on the understanding that this is to be discussed with the the schools and tutors (and us) - in order that we shape this together - how does that sound?

Hey! Great to get this going already. Can I suggest that the morning sessions contain clear outline briefs (probably pre-circulated) that are unpacked and then explored by the 2 teams on the day?

Just to let you know that so far people who have said they can come are Peter Winter (Monteney); Jim Hildyard (Winterhill); Paul Haigh (Notre Dame).
